What your mission will be

You will own legal activities at Topograph, contributing directly to sustainable growth.

The main current topics are:

Commercial contracts: we sell to banks, fintechs, and regtech vendors worldwide, and our product evolves constantly. You’ll maintain and negotiate our T&Cs and generally act as a business enabler.
Access to company information: we are connected to official registers in 100+ jurisdictions to make company data accessible to customers. Liaising with our Data Partnerships Lead, you’ll own the legal and risk perspectives on accessing and reusing data in the countries we cover.
Data protection: company records contain personal data of directors and beneficial owners, so GDPR and similar regulations are ongoing considerations. You’ll own the topic of privacy and cooperate with the Engineering team to enact policies and commitments.
Anti-money laundering: our data infrastructure is tailored for AML use cases, so it’s valuable we understand what regulators expect of banks in terms of onboarding and monitoring clients. You’ll build targeted knowledge that is leveraged in the product roadmap.

Litigation and IP are not current topics but they’d fall under the job’s ownership. Employment law and corporate law will not be a material part of your work.

We’re early-stage and want the legal function to be deeply embedded in the company. So you’ll be our Legal Counsel but also a Product Legal Counsel: we want your perspective to manifest in our relationships with vendors, partners and customers, but also in how we build our product and sell it. We expect you to form a dynamic view of the legal constraints in our space, and to make it actionable to the tech and go-to-market teams.

As the first legal hire, you will also decide how the function works and what tools it uses. You'll work closely with the founders to prioritize, start with what matters most, and build depth over time.
